Losing someone means saying goodbye to their presence, but it doesn’t always mean you’re ready to let go of the little things that made them who they were. In Wait, Don’t Go!, Swedish alt-pop artist ORKID explores the fear of slowly forgetting someone. The sound of their voice, the way they laughed, the details of their face. Memories that once felt permanent can gradually become harder to hold on to. As ORKID puts it, losing someone happens twice: first in real life, and then again in your own mind.
Wait, Don’t Go! makes good use of its influences, recalling the distinctive styles of Kate Bush and Lykke Li. The vocals are powerful, keeping emotions close to the surface. You’ll be fascinated by them.
ORKID has a wonderful way of impressing, and she does this in Wait, Don’t Go! to the extreme. Check it out below!
