Been Too Long is ELSY’s new single and it sounds wonderful. I adore the uplifting melodies which create a grandiose soundscape. Moreover, ELSY’s vocal performance is phenomenal, she sings with so much power. Furthermore, I also really like the dynamics!
Lyrically, ELSY knows to impress. She says about the meaning of the track: ”This is a sad song (sorry!) but hopefully one with a good message! My mother passed away when I was 19-year-old. I’m 31-year-old now and I feel that the pain from the experience doesn’t exactly fade. Sure, it gets easier, but I hadn’t reached the “Healed” stage of grief when I wrote this. When I’m hit by the sadness of a memory, I can’t help but think that it’s been too long to still be sad, and that I’m now too far gone to come back. It’s hard to remember when you’re in the middle of it, that it is just a moment. I want everyone to remember that you are strong enough to bring yourself back to center, because the truth is, it’s always possible to heal, no matter how long it’s been. We’re never too far gone, it just sometimes feels that way.”
