Gifted with the ability to capture the emotional resonance of vintage soul with a thoroughly modern flair, WILSN is on the cusp of bigger things. She’s already developed a grassroots following, gaining 1.6 million streams at Spotify for her independently released debut EP Don’t Give It Up.
Born and based in Melbourne, WILSN followed that initial success with the standalone singles Over Me and Love Me Back before releasing her self-titled second EP earlier this year. Highlights included first single Do This, Home which was premiered by NYLON and the powerful feminist anthem Fight Like A Girl.
Brand New World is WILSN’s new single and it sounds very impressive. I really like the unique soulful melodies which showcase new creative visions. Moreover, WILSN powerful vocals create amazing musical landscapes. Furthermore, I am also a big fan of the catchy chorus!
Speaking about the track, WILSN says: ”This was an opportunity to create a song that is a nod to some of my more traditional soul influences from the late 60’s. I spent a lot of my childhood performing with big bands and orchestras and soul music was one of my first loves.”
