Hydie Humbles is a solo artist, singer, songwriter and musician.
She recently released her debut single Barcelona, which is produced by Evil Genius UK.
The song has a surreal quality to it. I like the mellow yet powerful grooves. Besides, the vocals are sublime. Furthermore, I’m also a fan of the solid hooks and amazing harmonies.
Lyrically, Hydie delivers. Her writing skills are impressive. She makes music not to entertain, but to express herself and tell a story. Barcelona has so much depth. It’s captivating from the start to finish.
The song is the fictitious story of a young woman as she contemplates a possible pregnancy during her time in Barcelona, “now I could be a mother in this foreign land”. She is overwhelmed and fantasises about running away to the South of Spain to have the baby and live in peace as a single mother, “I wish this could be easy, I wish that I could stay, just you and me and wavy trees somewhere in Southern Spain”.
Hydie is a rising superstar. She creates her own musical universe.
The song deserves to be heard. It’s a masterpiece.
