Bahamian RnB artist Keeya shouts out to her famdem I Got You in first single taken from debut EP.
Teaming up with producer Maestro The Baker (credits include Rihanna, Jay1, J Hus and Tiggs Da Author), the pair have delivered a sweet RnB track which drips with sun-drenched positivity.
It’s an intriguing piece of work. The song features soulful melodies, powerful vocals, crispy 808s, and solid hooks. Every sound has a purpose.
Keeya’s lyrics are impressive. She writes with personality.
I Got You is the most personal jam from the project. Described by Keeya as “a love letter to myself”, she layers experiences that she and the people close to her have had, creating somewhat of an ode to her family, friends and community. In it she shouts out to her fandem, proclaiming I Got you! Explaining further, she says: “It’s about striving. It’s about how we take care of each other. If nobody else got us, we got us.”
Keeya makes really good music. I Got You deserves to be heard.
