Singer/songwriter Ashley Strongarm unveils new single Pushing Daisies. Her vocal is backed by solid guitar and drum work. She creates a sound that’s true to herself, totally authentic. Pushing Daisies draws the listeners’ attention in right away. With great verses and an uplifting chorus, the song keeps you focused.
Speaking about the meaning behind the track, Ashley comments: ”Pushing Daisies began as a simple voice memo on my phone in 2018. I had moved from a small town in North Carolina to New York in 2016 to pursue a more fulfilling life as a musician, and I was still struggling to find myself. Moving away from my hometown meant moving away from the life that my friends and family expected for me. This decision led me down a new path, away from the traditional white picket fence and children in my 20s, towards gigs in dark dive bars and hangovers from cheap whiskey. The singer/songwriter adds: ”I wrote Pushing Daisies as a way to express the conflicting emotions I felt about this change. The birth of my new life meant the death of my old one. I like to think of this song as a funeral for that. I wanted Pushing Daisies to have the same sort of dissonance I was experiencing at the time.”
Ashley’s lyrics are genuine and relatable as well. Everyone has their own goals in life. You have to do what makes you happy. Check out Pushing Daisies below!
