You sometimes hear a song that evokes such a striking atmosphere. In Changing, Romanie once again solidifies her position as one of the best Indie artists right now. Basically, it’s incredible. Romania’s vocals throughout are essential for creating a sense of immersion for the listener. She writes lyrics that showcase exceptional focus, detail, and spirit. We can all agree that Changing has many notable aspects.
Romanie’s new EP, Little Big Steps, includes four other tracks in addition to this one. The singer/songwriter comments: “Little Big Steps was born after a conversation with one of my best friends from Belgium, who was having a bad time. We had very long skype conversations about plans and dreams and one day she told me not to worry, because she would get back on her feet, “with little big steps”. I found the phrase so beautiful and comforting and thought about myself – moving countries, moving away from friends back in Belgium, starting over and finding new ways. Everything started to make sense in my head and I started to write more songs about my own journey, transition and about self reflection. Little Big Steps was the first song I wrote when I arrived on Australian soil in October 2019 and it feels like it was the last song I wrote with my “old” sound in my head. From then on, I think my songwriting started to shift a little towards a fuller sound.”
If you’re into music from Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Rose, or Julia Stone, then check out Changing below. Although it draws influences from the previously noted artists, it always retains its own style. Check out the audio below!
