Vita Schmidt, a half-French and half-Norwegian R&B/Soul singer, has lived all over the world: in Oslo, in Paris, and in Boston to study at Berklee College of Music. She and Baz King present their joint effort, Guard Down. The piece welcomes listeners into a different sphere with ethereal, soulful sounds. An astounding vocal performance harmonizes with the instrumental backing, further solidifying the production’s excellence.
There’s much substance in these lyrics. Vita comments on Guard Down: ”The product of creating this song served as a silver lining and a reminder that no matter the situation, it’s how we respond that determines our equanimity or discontent.”
