Introducing: Candace in Wonderland – K.I.S.S.

K.I.S.S. by Candace in Wonderland talks about the internal struggle many people go through on a daily basis. We all have an ego, which is essentially our inner critic that’s always trying to put us down. Fighting against it can be so exhausting. The key to overcoming our ego is to start to stop seeking approval and validation from others. We need to learn to accept ourselves for who we are, regardless of our flaws. When we do this, we can live a more authentic life. K.I.S.S. drives home the idea that it’s up to us: we can either allow our egos to run the show, or we can choose to listen to our true self instead.

Pop punk music is typically happy, but K.I.S.S. has a more introspective feel. The lyrics are confessional and personal, the vocals are punchy and driving, and the spoken word section brings the conflict to a resolution with Candace shaving her head and chanting “come on, keep it simple, stupid!”. This song really marks a new chapter in Candace’s story.
