For soulful steamroller Adi Oasis, fear has never kept her down. A self-described “juggernaut,” she continues to blossom, both personally and creatively; and passion and grace remain at the forefront of her life. Her latest single, Get it Got it acts as an ode to the French-Caribbean songstress’ metamorphosis. Just as beautiful as a butterfly emerging from her cocoon, Adi Oasis’ sunny vocals paint a picture of a younger, starry-eyed Adi; or, Adeline, as she was once called. Get it Got it is a letter to current Adi from her past self reminding her to remember her aspirations, and just how capable she has always been of achieving them. To give up on herself would be to give up on Adeline; and her recent stage name change from Adeline to Adi Oasis is merely a symbol of the musician’s power to pioneer the life and identity she’s dreamt of for so long.
When we first heard Adi Oasis’ funky duet with KAMAUU on the track MANGO, we knew it was only a matter of time before she exploded into stardom. Get it Got it is a testament to that. Its retro-rendering is equipped with bright horns and an infectious beat. Rounded out by the warmth of Adi’s tambor, the song feels drenched in sepia tones; and leaves you smiling along with her.
