Erika Levy’s most recent single, Chicken and Rice, is filled with 70s nostalgia that never feels too gimmicky. Her full band adds a fresh touch to her sound, where her singing leaps from one note to another with fervor. The song may not have an ultra-fast rhythm, but it’s definitely engaging enough to get you shuffling on the dancefloor.
I think the lyrics are what captivate me the most, as they’re appealing and easy to memorize. They really increase the song’s level of excellence.
