Taking cues from the likes of Charli XCX, Tinashe, and Ariana Grande, Zhuli’s music blurs the lines between mainstream and experimental styles, while remaining true to herself. Her latest single, Bleach, sounds energetic and catchy. It features phenomenal electronic elements that elevate the production to unprecedented levels. The vocals are captivating and alternate between different pitches.
Bleach is all about having strong feelings for someone that’s bad for you and liking them so much, you can’t see any of their faults or how they’re treating you. The lyrics take us through the mind of somebody totally dedicated to their crush; although this might appear romantic and sweet, it isn’t. The chorus really resonates with the idea of being so head-over-heels in love with somebody that no matter how bad they treat you, if they were to offer you bleach, you’d drink it up.
