Raised in a small town in Hertfordshire with only Christian music playing in her home, singer, songwriter & artist Lenn didn’t stumble upon other genres until she was a teenager, which is why it’s understandable that she doesn’t have a lengthy list of historical influences. Instead, she draws inspiration from contemporary artists such as Bon Iver, James Blake, Banks, Ben Howard and FKA Twigs.

Lenn’s new single, dreams are a nightmare, from her forthcoming debut EP, has moody pop melodies that fly through the soundscape in the same way butterflies do on a rainy day. The beat adds some punch to the production by propelling it forward step-by-step. With her heartfelt vocals, Lenn completely immerses her listeners.

She wrote dreams are a nightmare about the struggle of pursuing what you truly desire. It’s so often in life that the things that bring us the most joy also leave us at our most vulnerable and expose us to anxiety, heartbreak, and hopelessness.
