British artist Rita Ora unveiled a couple of weeks ago her new song, You Only Love Me, which is based on her own personal experience of feeling vulnerable at the start of a romantic relationship. Underpinned by love and passion, the song opens with a voice memo from Oscar and BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi.
Rita’s expressive delivery captures the lyrics’ emotion and brings forth a sense of hope. The upbeat melody only adds to the song’s love-filled message. It’s a feel-good anthem that’s bound to endure.
The video for You Only Love Me features hyperreal scenes of a bride’s special day going awry (with overzealous “badmaids”, the venue going up in flames and more), plus cameos by famous friends including Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Chelsea Handler, Addison Rae, pastry-bearing Alexander Stewart, and Sharon Stone playing the part of a fairy godmother.
