Queralt Lahoz will release her EP Alto Cielo this spring, which explores an intense relationship through four chapters. No Me Salves, the new single, gives a good idea of the project’s style and sound. It combines multiple genres, including pop and flamenco, masterfully.
The song’s lyrics have universal appeal because they reflect on the end of a relationship and also convey an empowerment message against social pressure. Lahoz is telling the truth here, nothing else.
The entire EP has been built together not only musically, but also visual-wise. The four chapters together form a hybrid piece halfway between fiction and video clip: an audiovisual film that goes hand in hand with music despite the fact that both, image and sound, have their own meanings independently.
The visual for No Me Salves stars Alua Tega and Salim Daprince. Director Adrián Martos translated the song’s theme to the screen accurately.
