Rachel aka Rainlights hails from Brooklyn, New York and is a singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer. Her third single, Brand New Sneakers, came out three days ago. It has shimmering beats and more gentle, key-focused melodies, which go back and forth between verses and choruses. The vocals are filled with personality.
Rainlights began writing this song about the difficulty of breaking new shoes in, but by the end, it was about letting go and accepting new beginnings. The lyrics will bring comfort to many.
