House of Miagi, (also known as HXM) is a Nigerian-born London singer-songwriter who’s single-handedly redefining the Afro-RnB music scene. His latest single, Over Me, made my heart sing. It’s the song I was looking for today. The instrumentation, for instance, sounds perfectly balanced, never becomes too overwhelming, and stays catchy at all times. Miagi’s performance consists of both singing and rapping, making it quite varied.
Over Me explores Miagi’s relationship with God and how distant he has felt from grace. He talks about the pain he has seen from family to friends, and that even if he falls, God will be by his side.
