Madison Beer – Spinnin

In Spinnin, Madison Beer questions whether the world itself has stopped turning, because normal life no longer exists. The lyrics depict her trying to make sense of things. During the first verse, she sings, “Did the sun stop risin’? Cause the sky’s so gray.” The song’s title and chorus represent how chaotic and out of control everything feels to her.

I like the production here, since it lends itself to the disorienting mood. The guitar produces an entrancing effect, and the drums have a tense quality that works well with the narrative. Many listeners will likely relate to the experience of life seeming surreal or nonsensical during times of transition.
