20-year-old alternative singer-songwriter dréa szn shares Halfway; her first release in over four months. And it sounds quite gritty, yet catchy at the same time. I find the guitars particularly convincing during the chorus, where they build real momentum and are also at their most intense. The raw emotion of the vocals also hits home immediately.
Halfway captures the frustration of giving everything to someone who never gives the same back. This is always difficult, because you try your absolute best, and it’s only fair to want that effort to be acknowledged.
