From the soft flickers of vintage film footage, Kohla emerges: a velvet voiced femme fatale armed with a spell-binding talent for writing and producing cinematic, intimate love songs. She releases her new single, Bound To You. It features beautiful guitar work that’s later joined by beautiful strings. The vocals are dreamy, offering an escape from the busy reality of life.
Lyrically, the song was written around the time Kohla was diagnosed with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and examines bonding and attachment, as she realized she had developed feelings for someone close to her. Although there was a lot of affection and care between them, the middle 8 examines ultimately how damaging it is to long for someone, and to be questioning what’s real or imaginary.
