After seven inactive months, 19-year-old Colchester alt artist dréa szn (fka Dréa) crashes back into the scene with Nothing, a dreamy, grunge-kissed alt-rock confession produced, mixed, and mastered by YAOUNDÉBOXINGCLUB.
Once known for softer tones, the rising star has traded sparkle for grit. Time away brought reinvention, experimentation, and a chase for authenticity, leading to the bold choice to leave university and go all in on music.
”Nothing was written whilst I was having a (very) hard time at University”, dréa szn explains. ”I took inspiration from what was happening in my life during that time and incorporated my experiences into the lyrics. It’s the perfect song to enter my new era with — one that explores heavier emotions and real topics like mental health and discrimination, all within the grungegaze-ish sound I’m building”.
