Jaya Bremer is a Victoria-based electro-pop artist with more than ten years of experience in the Victoria music scene. She releases her new single, My Expectations. It features some swirling drums that pulse delicately. The synths fit well with an instrument like the guitar, thanks to their muffled sound. I noticed that the vocals had an ethereal texture when analyzing them.
My Expectations talks about how beliefs and foundations of truth changed over time. Bremer watched and navigated a slow and steady shift in people close to her, feeling powerless to alter their course. The song’s meaning is further accentuated and defined by the music video.
