Dutch singer-songwriter ANN KING adopts a more dark sound on her new single, merry-go-round. It has cinematic melodic lines that don’t play games. I fancy the highly textured chorus that details many subtleties. The bridge breaks everything down brilliantly, with piano taking the spotlight. The outro has some powerful guitar work interwoven.
Merry-go-tound explores the complexities of a ‘me too’ situation. The lyrics reveal ANN’s fearless approach to difficult subjects. The power they have is undeniable.
