We appreciate that the song aims for a gritty rock sound, while also drawing on current pop influences. The vocals hover like feathers over the backdrop, seeking darkness rather than warmth. The chorus is marked by a solid rock rhythm.
The lyrics are so honest, involving you in the story immediately. They talk about someone who doesn’t love Joyce the way she wants. You can clearly hear her emotions reflected back at you.
He Loves Me Not does everything right, let’s be honest. Joyce sets a high standard here, and we have much to look forward to with new music coming out this year.
