The lyrics question the authenticity and value of fame, noting that while money might be fake, time is precious. Ettrich feels like she’s part of a cruel joke, manipulated and discarded by the industry.
Small Town Beauty Queen has polished pop production, putting you in a world Ettrich is trying to create. She pays careful attention to the words when she sings. The chorus kicks in brilliantly.
