Haley Dare’s latest single, Preemptive Mourning, talks about her experience of an emotionally abusive relationship at the age of 19. Reflecting back on this tumultuous chapter, the song recalls how she silently mourned the romance’s end before it happened.
The quality of the instrumentals on Preemptive Mourning is praiseworthy. I love the drums because they sound so punchy and make the emotion more pronounced. Nonetheless, I’m also keen on the traditional alt-pop chords. The vocals are the added bonus.
Dare says what she thinks. For that, we’re thankful. Check out Preemptive Mourning below!
