Dutch singer-songwriter Jesse Abbey releases his new track, Holy. With the help of energetic electronics, the sound moves in alternative ways. It’s especially genial how the second verse upgrades sonically. Jesse doesn’t play it safe on the mic, changing tones so often that you’ve to concentrate, which is great.
The song mulls over the pressure to conform to certain roles or expectations, such as being the “nice guy” or the “white knight,” and the feeling of being misunderstood despite your efforts. Things are kept honest here.
