Queer singer-songwriter RØSES likes to keep her music personal. It’s something she finds important and this is also as clear as day on Larvae. It can be quite intense at times and has a storyline that takes you through dark landscapes.
Larvae examines the haunting impact of parental manipulation and control, pointing out the heartbreaking transformation of a once-promising child into a broken soul. The lyrics have much rawness. In a way, they open wounds and treat them immediately after. It really seems like RØSES is trying to find closure.
RØSES receives direction from experimental production here. I love how the sound develops and embraces textures of different kinds. By doing this, things stay in motion.
As you can see, I’m a fan of this song. Check out Larvae below!
