Up-and-coming Dutch artist Josephine Odhil releases her new single, Empathy. It sounds experimental but still convincing for a larger audience because it doesn’t become too abstract. The gritty groove in particular works well. But the synths also caught my ears. The vocals guarantee quality.
This song acknowledges the physical sensations of empathy, like stomach aches and churning guts, as well as emotional responses such as tears and regret. Josephine feels blessed to have a “sinking heart” that allows her to be part of a shared human experience.
