Pretty Little Thing marks Claudiah’s debut into the R&B and soul space. The lyrics tell the story of a carefree summer from a future perspective. Claudiah recalls the ephemeral nature of this time, when everything was constantly changing and life held no serious responsibilities.
Arrangement-wise, Pretty Little Thing sheds light on that summer through its layered instrumentation. Interweaving guitar lines conjure up long afternoons spent strumming along. Sweeping synthesizers depict scenes of sunny days fading into balmy nights. The vocals are strong in their movement. A switch-up occurs at the bridge, so stick around.
