Singer/songwriter Sierra Fotouhi has recently dropped her latest single, Dissipate, and it’s an absolute banger. This upbeat, grungy track is bringing back indie sleaze in the most nostalgic way possible. You can hear the influences of bands like Metric, Bloc Party, The Ting Tings, and No Doubt woven together.
But Dissipate isn’t just a throwback to the sounds of the 2000s. It’s also a deeply personal reflection on Fotouhi’s own process of growth. She wrote this song while going through a really transformative period in her life. She had kind of isolated herself from society, and while that was ultimately positive, it also drove her a little crazy at times. This song is her way of channeling those intense feelings of both liberation and claustrophobia.
With its driving beats, raw guitar riffs, emotive vocals, and strong lyrics, Dissipate lives up to its expectations. Check it out below!
