Sydney Lauren uses her songs to tell stories. She recently shared 28 & Wasted. It captures the emotional turmoil and introspection of being in your late twenties and grappling with feelings of uncertainty and disillusionment. The singer considers the societal expectations of this age as a time for self-discovery but finds herself questioning her purpose.
28 & Wasted has excellent pop sensibility with some subtle country vibes woven in. I really dig how the guitar chords drive the melody along. The vocals do an awesome job presenting the different layers in the lyrics – you can really feel what Lauren is putting out there.
