India Eve Hartley’s debut single. radio silent, is out now. Its lyrics capture that frustrating dynamic where you’re pining after someone who just doesn’t seem to notice you at all. India sings about trying to get a guy’s attention, dropping hints that she’s interested, but he remains “radio silent.” No matter what she does, her messages don’t seem to be getting through.
Despite the unrequited longing, the song has an upbeat, almost playful vibe. The alt-pop production is full of shimmery synths and a driving beat that makes you want to dance away the heartache. And India’s ethereal vocals provide the rightful contrast.
