Have you heard about Cherry Makes Waves yet? The talented Latvian-born visual and audio artist just dropped her brand new EP, 90 Beats Per Minute. This highly anticipated release features 5 fresh tracks, all locked in at a steady 90 BPM groove. If you’re into cutting-edge electronic music with an expressive flair, you’re exactly where you need to be.
The musical journey kicks off with the track Spaceman. Atmospheric synthesizers dance around, forming a cosmic wave. Then, guitar arpeggios enter, broadening the soundscape even further. At around 1:20, the vocals finally make their grand entrance. From that moment on, you can tell this is no ordinary earthly experience – you’ve been swept away into another realm.
Phaeton‘s sound is driven by some exciting drumbeats and moody percussion. The melodies come from the guitar playing, which has this really infectious, catchy vibe. And the vocals are super dynamic – they shift around a lot, but in a way that’s instantly engaging.
BIG LEAGUE features this seriously funky groove that’ll get your hips moving, with a thumping kick drum and a slick 80s-inspired framework that doesn’t mess around. I’m really digging how Cherry delivers the lyrics, she keeps your mind focused and makes you really listen to what she’s saying.
Home (Complete) takes you back to the style of the opener, but with a more pop-oriented twist. The keys, synths, and percussion come together nicely, making you want to find that place where you truly belong. As for the title track closing things out, it can get pretty abstract sometimes, but there are moments where it all clicks. Its approach appeals to me.
Cherry Makes Waves hasn’t let anything go to waste and applied every drop of creative energy into this project. You’ll notice she does things differently. Check out 90 Beats Per Minute below!
