Breaking up is hard, but seeing an ex move on to someone new can feel like a punch to the gut. It’s a situation that most people go through at some point in their lives – that heartbreaking moment when you realize the one you used to love has found someone else.
Inspired by Taylor Swift’s poignant lyrics in ‘Tis The Damn Season, up-and-coming artist Cece Benz has documented those raw emotions in her latest single, We’re Over Now. She speaks of the confusion, jealousy, and pain that comes from dealing with the reality that your ex has moved on.
The mellow, melancholic instrumentals faithfully reflect the song’s somber mood. I’m really digging how the guitar riffs ebb and flow like lost ocean waves. And the powerful, emotive vocals just take the intensity even higher.
