PANIK FLOWER is an understated dream pop band from Brooklyn, formed in 2022 through chance introductions and long-term friendships.
Their new single Alkaline has so many clever musical details that an entire book could be written about it. The guitar riffs are beautifully designed and form the backbone during the chorus, giving the vocals just enough space to come to the foreground. Funny thing is, the verses are very light and subdued. This contrast works well and keeps you sharp.
The lyrics are somewhat abstract. The true meaning will only reveal itself to you if you make an effort to find it. And that’s something I really like. It gives the music just a little bit of extra value.
