Lefuturewave is a music blog based in the Netherlands. We feature emerging as well as established artists.
Mountains is the first exciting single by Gaia Rollo, a singer, musician and composer from Puglia, a member of the current La Municipàl lineup.
It has an experimental production that sweeps over your ears like a fresh gust of wind. Soft, almost meditative guitar tones spin the wheel and are accompanied by punchy textures after about a minute. From this point on, the track evolves. The vocals stay consistent throughout.
About Mountains, Gaia says: ”I wrote it in April 2024, at the end of a particularly complex period. I had been in a new house for a few days and was trying to put my things in order: every book in a drawer and also all those things I wanted to leave behind, each in its own place. Sometimes, however, writing is the only way to put feelings into perspective, whether negative or positive”.
It’s interesting to follow Gaia’s train of thought, and her musical abilities are also stunning. We need more artists like her. Artists who really care about what they do. Check out Mountains below!
