Gillian Krystal is a singer-songwriter from New York, currently based in Nashville. She releases her new single, Colorblind. It talks about those times when you completely ignore the signs that someone might not be right for you. Instead of listening to your gut, you just dive right in headfirst, even though deep down you know it’s probably not going to end well. The hook of this song, “Hate the sinner, love the sin”,sums up that reckless excitement.
Sonically, Colorblind weaves alt-pop, R&B, and soul with drive. I’m super fascinated by the drums here. And the way the vocals sit right there in the center of everything? Chef’s kiss! It puts all the focus on them.
