Have you ever stumbled upon an artist who instantly clicked with you? That’s the kind of impact Joveth has. This guy’s voice is something else, and his music stands head and shoulders above the generic stuff flooding the airwaves these days. His debut EP, Lonely Boy, takes you on an excursion straight into his innermost thoughts.
As the project begins, we hear the title track, which depicts Joveth’s willingness to express himself. The production emphasizes this with relatively dark melodic patterns a moody beat. We’re Over starts very abstractly, before a more textured pop sound rises to the surface, placing you in the context of a toxic relationship.
Burn It features cool electronic textures that push things forward, especially during the chorus, where things get really gritty. The vocals match this well, and don’t slow down at any point.
Bubbly Gum is a vibe. Its upbeat feel makes you want to show off your best dance moves. The arrangement gleams with stellar guitar riffs. Next, we have Money Can’t Buy Happiness. Like the title suggests, Joveth is trying to figure out what true happiness really is.
Say My Name ends the EP and comes across as iconic, mainly because of the funky riffs that bring back a touch of disco. Real praise should also be given to the singing.
Joveth’s style can’t be easily summed up in just a few words. He’s super diverse on Lonely Boy, with no two tracks being the same. Check it out below!
