Stripped back to the bone but emotionally overflowing, Overgrown shows Natalie at her most raw, reflective, and compelling.
The song begins with a simple reverb-soaked guitar loop, circling like an unshakable thought. It instantly creates a vibe that feels almost private, like you’re eavesdropping on someone’s inner monologue. Natalie’s performance simply rocks. There’s no vocal manipulation here, just unfiltered honesty . It’s the sound of someone exhausted from loving too long alone.
When the subtle hi-hats, a low 808 hum, and barely-there percussion, come in, it doesn’t disrupt the flow. It lifts it. Natalie’s use of space is brilliant.
