New York City-based singer-songwriter Rachel Bochner releases Silver Rings as part of the deluxe edition of her debut album Lovergirl. It possesses a nice underlying groove that, while staying quite understated, manages to steal the show with its intricate details. The guitar work, in particular during the chorus, adds some nice punch. The vocals are arranged nicely, so following them is easy.
The lyrics feel thoughtful here. They capture Rachel’s intense longing to be with someone. She’s quite poetic in the way she describes things, which I find fascinating.
