Following the success of her recent singles and a nomination for the Dutch Zilveren Notenkraker award, Dutch-Surinamese singer-songwriter néomí strikes back with Trigger, a tender new ballad from her upcoming EP Another Year Will Pass. The song explores the distressing dilemma of loving someone you know you can’t keep, capturing the painful tension between holding on and letting go. néomí describes it as “so real and painful”.
The music video, directed by Dirkje Duwel, takes inspiration from the classic western standoff. Through subtle moments and intense glances between néomí and Anna, the video beautifully sketches the emotional push and pull of a delicate, complicated relationship.
