Honestly, there aren’t many songs that can make you question your choice between Dr. Pepper or Cherry Coke and make you pine for someone who resembles a “Tuscan summer night.”. But Siena Fantini’s new single, poptart, does exactly that, and in the most delightfully heartbroken way possible. The lyrics are super thoughtful.
With Kiel Feher (Selena Gomez, Lauv) on drums, Harrison Whitford (Phoebe Bridgers) on guitar and Taylor Mackall (Lizzy McAlpine, Joni Mitchell) on keyboard/piano, poptart is a finely layered pastry of sound. It’s moody but light, similar to Lana Del Rey but with a Phoebe Bridgers touch.
