Maria Karélina, originally from Tallinn in Estonia, moved to the UK at the age of eight, lived in St.Ives in Cornwall, and eventually ended up in London where she graduated from drama school. She now releases her fifth single, for a bluebird. The song has beautiful singing that will warm your heart. With its layered melodies and textures, the sonic arrangement impresses.
The lyrics talk about a man who tries to protect a beautiful bluebird, but his love becomes too much for him. In the end, his daughter frees the bird, and he learns that sometimes caring means letting go.
Karélina’s poetic approach here works really well. Check out for a bluebird below!
