Rising UK-based artist Elle-Marie loves creating personal music. Fairytale Love, her debut EP, exemplifies this well. What a wonderful project it has become! As an avid music lover, I’m very excited.

The project opens with Take Me Home, marked by soulful vocals and light Drum & Bass–like drums that dance like stars covering the moon. It tries to capture the rush of first love, red flags and all, when you’re so convinced you’ve found “the one”.

Gone is the second track and sounds slightly more subdued than the first, but with such a lovely melody. I find it fascinating how the production continues to evolve, considering its calm nature. The lyrics deal with the aftermath of a relationship ending without closure, when you feel lost and wonder how you’ll ever stand on your own again.

Beg for You uses a cinematic intro that transitions into a poppy design before shifting into something more rock-like. It may come across as complex now, but the result is actually very appealing. The storytelling works, tackling the frustration of being held back by an unwilling partner.

Fairytale Love (the title track) follows and provides heavy sonic emotion, mostly because of the guitar, which adds real sharpness. The chorus lifts Elle-Marie’s performance to majestic heights. The track focuses on turning heartache into acceptance and strength. A lot of empowering energy emanates from this. It shows that there’s always a path to happiness, even when it feels hard to find. There’s also a music video. Watch it here.

For fans, Elle-Marie has included an acoustic version of the title track and Take Me Home to the EP. It gives the project more substance all around.

Elle-Marie says “The EP was my therapy.” “I wrote these songs in the middle of it all – the highs, the breakdowns, and everything in between. I hope they resonate with anyone going through the same, reminding them that even in the messiest moments you can always find your way back to yourself.”

I’m pretty sure Fairytale Love is going to be favored by many. It’s a solid record with considerable depth. Definitely give it a listen, especially if you already follow artists like Estella Dawn and Mia Baron. Elle-Marie possesses all the qualities of an international star.
