A few days ago, indie rock band Esquimaux shared Bricks and Bones, their first release in 17 years and the long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s Tiger EP. Its lyrics revolve around the idea of building something new on the remains of an earlier relationship, advocating that even painful experiences can lead to better things.
Bricks and Bones has a dreamy, warm sound influenced by shoegaze, dream-pop, and lo-fi. I love how the old tape recordings from the 2008 demo are woven into the new recording, connecting the past and the present.
Bricks and Bones is beautifully crafted and worth listening to. Check it out below!
