Singer-songwriter Atlantis DuBois wrote Things Leaving Me after losing ideas recorded on her phone. The song explores feelings of loss and the hope that what’s gone might one day return. Fun fact: once DuBois finished the song her phone rebooted (thank god) and she got everything back.
I really like the sonic simplicity of this song. Driven by peaceful guitar work, the arrangement sparkles. The vocals have such a soulful quality, which gives them credibility.
