Marlen Tjøsvoll’s 2025 trajectory is the kind of thing that sounds made up: go viral on The Voice Norway, rack up millions of streams, get praised by Sharon Stone (yes, that Sharon Stone), and suddenly find yourself with international attention you probably weren’t expecting.
And then what do you do with that moment? If you’re Marlen, apparently you co-write a song with acclaimed Norwegian artist Beharie.
The timing is almost poetic. Right when the world is watching, Marlen releases Break Down The Walls, which talks about the weight of inner critique, the feeling of never being good enough, and the fear of daring to try when standards are set too high.
I love the song’s arrangement . It has nice guitar work and drumming that will get you moving. The vocals are brilliant, with a great deal of soulful sweetness to them.
Tjøsvoll understands what hit-worthy music sounds like. Check out Break The Walls below!
