Álvaro Rubio’s Human Nature is the opening track of his debut psychedelic R&B album Corazón Perdido, and it’s instantly captivating. It talks about a pull that overpowers all rational thought. The Spanish interjections throughout feel like the thoughts arriving faster than they can be filtered, and the production builds a nocturnal world around it all that makes surrender seem inevitable.
Rubio isn’t wrestling with human nature here. He’s given in entirely. And it sounds incredible.
