Ellie Grace is a 16 year old singer/songwriter from Seattle, WA. Hope Resides serves as the opening track of her new full-length album, and by design, it’s a beginning, the first page of a ten-chapter story written across what she describes as a year of unusual loss.
The song finds Grace coming to terms with her own mortality, a subject most artists circle around rather than face head-on. The lyrics are powerful, and probably relatable as well.
I love the arrangement throughout, reflecting creativity. Especially the guitar work is impressive. The vocals feel robust, making them a big highlight.
